Old Crescent RFC Senior Women’s Team 2025/2026
The Management of Old Crescent RFC along with the Chair of Rugby Liam Toland, are delighted to announce the return of Senior Women’s rugby to Takumi Park, for the forthcoming season 2026/2027
This team will be built on the success of the underage setup, which sees girls from u6 to u18 training and playing every weekend throughout the rugby season. With the full backing of the entire club, this team is sure to be a success.

Speaking about the launch, current Munster Women’s Head Coach Matt Brown (and parent of one of our U12 girls) “It’s great news to see Old Crescent start up a senior women’s team . With all the good work being done to develop underage girls’ teams it seems a natural progression to start an adult team in the club and I look forward to seeing them progress”

This is an exciting time for the club. Our focus for the women’s team is on enjoying rugby, developing and learning new skills, and creating new friendships and bonds that will last the test of time.
Former Munster & Ireland player Eimear Considine added “I’m delighted to hear that Old Crescent are launching a senior women’s team for the first time this season. My cousins play mini and youth rugby with Old Crescent, and I’m thrilled they’ll now have the opportunity to play senior rugby with their club too. Fantastic news for the club and brilliant step forward for women’s sport in Limerick and in Ireland!”

This team will follow the steps of our previous Women’s team who were the *first Limerick club to win the All-Ireland League*. It’ll also provide a pathway for our youngest players right up to senior rugby.

We are currently recruiting players for the 2026/27 season and welcome interest from experienced players, those returning to rugby, and anyone looking to try the sport for the first time.
If interested in playing, please reach out to our Recruitment Officer Marie Hayes-Carroll 087 230 0870 or email womensrugby@oldcrescentrfc.com
