On behalf of Old Crescent RFC, I am delighted to welcome our members, players, coaches, volunteers, sponsors and supporters to Takumi Park for the 2026/2027 season. I also extend a very warm welcome to all visiting teams, their supporters and the match officials who make our game possible.

It is a great honour to serve a second term as President of Old Crescent. Having previously held this position, I know first-hand the commitment and friendship that make our club so special. From our youngest age-grade teams through to our senior sides, so many people give their time generously. To every coach, administrator, medic, committee member and volunteer working both on and off the field, thank you for all that you do.

This season is a particularly exciting one for the club as we welcome the return of a senior women’s team after an absence of more than 25 years. It is an important step in the continued growth of women’s and girls’ rugby at Old Crescent, and I wish the players, coaches and everyone involved every success as they begin this new chapter. Alongside this, our thriving boys’ and girls’ sections remain central to the future of the club—developing players, creating friendships and fostering a lifelong love of rugby.

We also look forward to seeing all our adult teams build on the commitment and memorable moments of last season. In particular, congratulations to our Third XV on their superb Webb Cup victory—an achievement that brought great pride to the club. I wish every player and coach an enjoyable, successful and, above all, injury-free year.

Our sincere thanks go to our sponsors for their continued generosity and belief in Old Crescent. Their support is vital to the club, and I encourage our members and friends to support them whenever possible. I also thank our loyal members and supporters, whose encouragement and willingness to help continue to make Takumi Park such a welcoming place.

As we begin the new season, we remember with affection those members and friends of Old Crescent who have passed away during the past year, and we extend our deepest sympathies to their families and loved ones.

Finally, I ask everyone attending matches to respect both teams, our officials and our visitors. Please enjoy the rugby, the company and the post-match hospitality in our clubhouse. I look forward to meeting many of you throughout the season.
