President’s Welcome

On behalf of members of Old Crescent RFC, I wish to extend a warm welcome to our visiting players, their supporters and match officials to Rosbrien for the season 2025/26.

I am honoured to follow in the footsteps of many esteemed members to become the 63rd president of Old Crescent RFC having been first appointed to the role in the 2000/01 season. I wish to acknowledge the huge amount of work being done by our many volunteers throughout the club from under 6s to the 1st’s both on and off the field and thank them for their efforts.

A special welcome to our close neighbours Shannon who have joined us in 2A in what is set to be two cracking local derby matches, and to Wanderers and Dungannon both promoted from 2B. Dungannon and Old Crescent have a long history competing for the Shields Cup which adds a little bit of spice to the game to ensure the winning team gets bragging rights.

I wish all our new coaching team and all our coaches, administrators, medical team and players from our Age grade Boys and Girls to the ‘21‘s and Senior sides another very successful and injury free year.

Our underage, a fantastic structure that constantly nurtures, develops many fine players that find themselves playing for many years and making lifelong friends. Keep up the incredible work.

To all our Sponsors, without whom our club would not survive, and indeed our great members who always put their hands up when asked to fund one thing or another, thank you.

We should also remember the many supporters, players and members of the club that have passed over the last year and we would like to offer our condolences to their families and friends.

I would also like to acknowledge our successful 1st, 2nd & U21 teams who provided us with a lot of special moments, especially reaching both Senior & Junior Cup finals, but also with winning the 2nd’s league & U21’s league, and the Donal Walsh plate. Here’s to another successful season.

Finally to all supporters attending matches throughout the season please respect both teams, our match officials and our visiting supporters and enjoy the post-match chat and hospitality in our wonderful club house.
